He takes the pain away when we pray. 🙏🏻 

Peyton Jones suffered two skull fractures and a brain bleed after falling off a golf cart at the Exposition Pig Show in Indy. Through this traumatic time her and her family chose to praise Jesus through it in hopes to show others the goodness of God. 

“He takes the pain away when we pray.” Were words spoken from Peyton (PJ) while lying in her hospital bed at Riley’s. 

This shirt is a message of hope for anyone experiencing pain. 

Peyton’s mom, Emily shared this story… 

In our darkest, saddest, scariest moments… God is oh so present and He is so so good. 

I have witnessed that so many times over the past few days as I’ve watched our daughter laying on the pavement screaming for help, being driven off in an ambulance, standing in the ER with 8 medical staff working on her, watching her be completely incoherent not knowing if we would ever see her normal again, seeing her moan and yell out in pain and not being able to do anything about it… 

When the pain has been unbearable, Peyton has prompted and led us in prayer several times. One of the last times she prayed in the hospital she said, Amen and Brian and I sat there with her in silence as tears rolled down our faces. Breaking the silence and still with her eyes closed, our baby girl says, “He takes the pain away when we pray.” 🙏🏻 

These words from our daughter's lips will forever be etched on my mind and heart.

Did I TRULY believe that? 
I wasn’t so sure… as I watched my daughter experience many painful moments. 

But, SHE truly believed that and proclaimed that over herself. And most every time, minutes after she cried out each of these prayers, she would get rest. 

Then I remembered the most painful moment for me in all of this (the 2-3 hours in the ER not knowing the outcome)... I was in the deepest prayer I have ever been in in my life. Worshiping and crying out to God. It took a bit but, God started taking my pain away and giving me peace that He had our girl. 

He takes the pain away when we pray. 🙏🏻 

God wants us to rely on him. In the hurting, in the suffering, in the tears, in the pain, in the sleepless nights, in the unknown, in not understanding why… There He is. 

My daughter reminded me, it’s not just praying… it’s believing AND receiving it too. 
That’s the hard part right? We can cry out a prayer but, when it comes to internally accepting that God is in control… not as easy. 

Friend, I am not sure what pain you may be facing right now… or will face in the future. Whether it's physical pain or a pain that no one can see… May our 15 year old daughter be a testimony for all of us…
